About the Department
Maintaining a healthy life requires achieving an ideal body weight and following a balanced diet. Since ideal weight varies from person to person, the nutrition programs designed to reach it should be tailored according to the individual’s body composition (fat-muscle ratio), blood values, and daily lifestyle. At Doğan Hospital’s Nutrition and Dietetics Department, personalized nutrition programs are prepared with this awareness and provided to both inpatient and outpatient individuals.

Special nutrition programs should be prepared for patients with high cholesterol, bone and joint diseases (osteoporosis, gout), diabetes (type 1, type 2, gestational), digestive disorders (reflux, gastritis, ulcer, diarrhea, constipation, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome), and kidney diseases (nephrotic syndrome, acute and chronic renal failure, kidney stones).
At Doğan Hospital’s Nutrition and Dietetics Department, personalized diet programs are created. Our expert dietitian provides individualized nutrition recommendations and proper food preparation methods suited to each patient’s condition.
Nutrition for Diabetic Patients
Healthy and appropriate nutrition is one of the most essential components of diabetes treatment. Nutrition plans for diabetic individuals are prepared based on their age, height, body weight, physical activity level, socioeconomic status, and eating habits. Continuous education and follow-up are provided to ensure sustainable healthy eating habits.
Weight Loss – Obesity Treatment
The dietitians at Doğan Hospital achieve successful results in treating obesity—caused by excessive fat accumulation in the body—through personalized diet programs designed for every age group. The primary goal is to change eating and behavioral habits while increasing energy expenditure.
Weight Gain Program
In cases of underweight—when body weight is below the ideal level for height—a sufficient and balanced nutrition plan should be developed rather than a diet with low nutritional value. In our department, personalized diet plans are created for underweight individuals based on their health status, ensuring healthy weight gain and continuous follow-up.
Nutrition During Pregnancy
Healthy and regular nutrition during pregnancy is crucial for both maternal and fetal health. With proper nutrition, excessive weight gain can be prevented. At Doğan Medical Center’s Nutrition and Dietetics Department, diet plans are prepared and monitored to support the healthy nutrition of expectant mothers.
Gluten-Free Diet
Gluten is a general term for proteins found in grains. It affects the structure and quality of foods, especially bread. Gluten gives dough its elasticity and helps retain gases during fermentation, allowing bread to rise and form its characteristic texture.
Although gluten is easily digested by most people, it may cause sensitivity or intolerance in some individuals, leading to symptoms such as bloating, indigestion, headaches, and gas. In Celiac disease, gluten damages the intestinal lining and interferes with nutrient absorption.
To prevent health problems and ensure proper nutrient absorption, individuals with intestinal sensitivity should eliminate gluten-containing foods and follow a gluten-free diet. This diet should continue until symptoms resolve and should always be applied under the supervision of a qualified dietitian.
